Gasteria nitida

The name of this species derives from ancient Latin and literally means "shiny", referring to the characteristic of its skin. This succulent lant develops without a stem, dark green in color with long tongue-shaped and slightly curved leaves, very thick and rigid, rough to the touch because they have many microscopic tubercles. In the juvenile phase the foliage is arranged in two opposite rows, while in mature age the plant changes considerably: pleasant rosettes are formed, the leaves become more erect and take on a more triangular shape; moreover the surface tends to become smooth and shiny, as the name of the species indicates. In the middle of summer you can enjoy the show that the beautiful flowers of Gasteria nitida will offer you: branched inflorescences of a beautiful color faded from pink to reddish will bloom, with a very showy and unique yellow throat!
