Gasteria excelsa

Beautiful succulent whose name comes from the Latin and literally means "tall", probably used for a double reference: on the one hand, this plant grows in nature on cliffs at very high altitudes; on the other hand, G. excelsa is one of the largest species of the genus and develops a pleasant pink inflorescence over a meter high! Its leaves are fleshy and rigid, flattened along the surfaces and ending at the apex in a modest tip; they tend to dispose at a young age in opposite pairs and, only when the plant is ripe, they develop pleasant rosettes of a dark green meticulously mottled by much paler dots. The charm of G. excelsa is amplified by margins finely surrounded by white, almost as if they were drawn, which make the shapes and colors of this beautiful specimen stand out even more!
