Frailea schilinzkyana

Frailea schilinzkyana is a very particular, small cactus specimen. Its globose stem is green in colour, slightly depressed at the apex and with cold or prolonged exposure to the sun it can take on purplish or almost brown hues. Its protruding tubercles end in downy areoles from which numerous spines emerge. The latter are arranged in a radial pattern, are yellow/brown in colour and thin. The flowers of this cactus bloom at the apex of the stem and are yellow in colour.
