Fouquieria splendens

Fouquieria splendens is a shrubby plant native to California. It has a woody stem that can reach a height of up to 6 m as it grows. Numerous thorns form along the stem from the old leaves,while the new ones are green and oval in shape, covering all the branches. The beautiful flowers of F.splendens generally bloom at the tips of long branches. The petals are red-orange and give the majestic plant a touch of delicacy.
