Description:

It is a succulent plant with a thick greyish caudex, which reaches up to 30 cm in diameter. It tends to grow faster, if hidden underground. It has thin branches, that can reach up to 80 cm in height, from which green and oval leaves emerge. It is a deciduous plant, which means that it loses all its leaves in winter (its vegetative period). In late summer, it blooms with small, slightly scented, whitish-green flowers.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 7 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water regularly but moderately during the growing season (when the new leaves are born), always making sure that the soil is always dry between one watering and the next one. During the dormant period (when the leaves begin to turn yellow and fall) suspend watering.

The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
