Initially it is a bushy shrub, which then, in its natural habitat, becomes a tree up to 30 meters high, while, when cultivated, it can reach up to 10 meters in height. The trunk has a yellowish-green color and heart-shaped bright green leaves, which have a tuft of whitish hairs on the back, making it easily distinguishable from other Ficus.
