Wonderful caudex, particularly appreciated for the bottle shape of its stem, characterized by a rounded, swollen and woody base, which then grows shrubby and ends, at the apex, in abundant branches like a crown. In nature it grows up even to 8 meters tall, becoming a giant with an asymmetric stem and multiple bumps and recesses, where the swollen base is necessary for the plant as a water reserve to be exploited in periods of drought. When grown in pots, however, Ficus palmeri keeps much smaller dimensions, taking the form of a graceful bonsai. The crown of Ficus is adorned with majestic heart-shaped leaves rich in three-dimensional veins, which make the plant even more ornamental and noteworthy within any environment!
