Ferocactus stainesii f. monstrous crested

The crested shape of this wonderful cactus has the typical compact fan arrangement that will never be the same from one plant to another, with the addition of geometric anomalies such as protuberances or absence of thorns. It's a typical feature of the monstrosity of the cactus that contribute to make this absolutely unique exemplar, a real jewel coveted by all the most experienced collectors! In its normal form it is a solitary globose cactus, which with time can assume a columnar posture. The body, with an intense dark green colour, has several well-defined ribs on which emerge large round and fluffy white areolas. Its robust reddish or yellowish spines are flattened, slightly curved and tend to enclose the body.
