Ferocactus peninsulae

Generally a solitary globose cactus. Its olive-green body has well-defined ribs with irregular tubercles, on which large round white areoles can be seen. Its radial spines are sparse and straight, curved inwards, of a brownish-white color, the central ones are more erected, hooked, of a brownish-red color. Its multi-layered funnel-shaped flowers are serrated at the edges, of a yellow-orange color with a red-veined interior, which bloom on the top of the plant.
