Ferocactus horridus f. variegata

The variegated form of this cactacea presents peculiar yellow areas in the exact points where chlorophyll is absent: each specimen will never be exactly identical to another, which is why they are so much appreciated by collectors all over the world! It is a globular cactus, generally solitary, with a bluish-green body that has well-defined ribs with irregular tubercles, on which large round white areolas emerge. Its radial spines are sparse and straight, curved inwards with a creamy white color and its central spines are more erect, hooked and brownish-red in color. Its multi-layered, funnel-shaped flowers are serrated at the edges, bright yellow in color, with red-veined ends and bloom on top of the plant.
