Ferocactus horridus f. crested

The crested shape of this cactus presents the typical fan-shaped arrangement, which makes each specimen absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this reason so much appreciated by collectors. In its normal form F. Horridus is a generally solitary globose cactus. The stem has a bluish-green color, and has well-defined ribs on which large round white areolas sprout. It has sparse and straight radial spines, curved inwards of cream white color and its central spines are more erect, hooked and of red-brownish color. Its funnel-shaped flowers are serrated at the edges, bright yellow in color.
