Ferocactus horridus

It is a globose cactus, which is generally solitary. The bluish-green body has well-defined ribs with irregular tubercles, on which large round white areoles emerge. Its radial spines are sparse and straight, curved inwards, of a creamy white color; its central spines are more erected, hooked, of a brownish-red color. Its multi-layered funnel-shaped flowers are serrated at the edges, of a bright yellow color, with red-veined ends, which bloom on the apical part of the plant.
