Ferocactus hamatacanthus f. crested

This wonderful specimen of cactus is very appreciated for its particular appearance, and for its wonderful crested shape: the fan crest will never be identical in different plants making each plant unique. In its normal form this cactus has a solitary appearance, with a dark green stem that initially is similar to a bump and which over time tends to become columnar. Its vertical ribs are tubercular and well evident; above them there are white and fluffy areoles. From these radials, of reddish-brown colour, emerge, while the central ones are lighter, longer and with a hooked shape. From the end of summer to autumn it produces beautiful yellow funnel-shaped flowers that go to form a ring at the apex of the plant.
