Art. 54933
This species is very special and rare, its variegation is a much loved feature and makes it desired. There may be lighter shades along the stem of the plant, this is because there should be a lack of chlorophyll. In general, it is a medium-sized barrel-shaped cactus with a solitary habit. Its stem, with its characteristic grayish blue color, has very marked ribs, framed by woolly whitish areoles. The plant is almost completely devoid of thorns, which gives it the name of 'inermis' or helpless. In late spring it produces beautiful bright yellow funnel-shaped flowers, which form a ring at the apex of the plant.
