Ferocactus flavovirens

Cactaceae with a globose body, which with its growth can become slightly columnar, characterized by a beautiful opaque green colour and asymmetrical, wavy and extremely pronounced tubercles. At the apex of each tubercle are present big roundish areoles, white and woolly: from these ones come out long and thin radial spines, slightly curved, of a brownish-yellow hue and arranged radially; it has a single central thorn, generally longer, robust and straighter than the others. With the growth all the spines will tend to assume greyish colours, almost pinstriped. Between spring and summer the wild aspect of this cactus will be pleasantly contrasted by its large bright flowers on the notes of yellow and red.
