Ferocactus diguetii

Cactaceae with a particular look, renowned for being one of the absolutely largest exemplars of Ferocactus: with a diameter in nature of over one meter, it can reach even 4 meters high! When young, it has a globose stem, equipped with deep longitudinal ribs and tubercles little carved on the notes of a pale and opaque bluish-green. It is equipped with very large and abundantly woolly white areoles, from which come out long radial yellow thorns, thin and arranged radially, slightly curved towards the stem. It also presents a single central plug similar to the others which, however, heads outwards with a very light hook. For the duration of spring, this "thorny giant" will give you a touch of joy and vivacity thanks to its big funnel-shaped flowers that fade from bright red to orange.
