Ferocactus chrysacanthus

It is a small cactaceae with a solitary habit, occasionally might be of a prolifera form, which can reach up a maximum of six heads. Its stem is globular, similar to a barrel, has tuberculous ribs, on which downy white areoles can be seen. From these areoles white, long and thin radial spines come out, as well as hooked, yellow-golden, thick, twisted central ones. In summer, it blooms with beautiful yellow-orange flowers, that form some sort of a ring at the apex of the plant.
