Ferocactus alamosanus

The name of the species was chosen in reference to Los Alamos, where the first exemplar were discovered. It is a pleasant spherical cactus, slightly depressed at the apex, equipped with longitudinal ribs strongly grooved, along which emerge large ovoid white areoles. It has several long central thorns arranged in a radial way, of a straw yellow colour. It is usually equipped with a single central thorn facing outwards, longer, robust and of a very intense orange-yellow colour, that contrasts nicely with the matt emerald green of the stem. F. alamosanus, once reached the ripe age, will delight your environments with large yellow flowers, very flashy and lively!
