Ferocactus acanthodes f. crestata

The crested shape of this cactaceae presents the typical compact fan arrangement that makes each exemplar absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this reason very appreciated by collectors. In its normal form it is a showy globose cactus that tends to become columnar with the growth up to reach even two meters in height. It has tuberculated ribs, with prominent very long, flattened and often hooked spines, which create a vortex colored from yellow to red, tending to become black with age: a whirlwind of spines, really original, absolutely unique!
