Euphorbia silenifolia

A peculiar succulent consisting of a large caudex generally underground in nature, but which in cultivation tends instead to be placed partially exposed outside the ground to give the plant a further aesthetic charm. The caudiciform tuber, woody and covered with a sort of bark, takes on extravagant and asymmetrical shapes, sometimes branching; from the latter, during the growing season, pleasant tufts of lanceolate leaves emerge, many slender and extremely long, which tend to fall downwards like a waterfall. The intense emerald green of the foliage contrasts nicely with the clusters of small reddish flowers that bloom between the tufts and enliven the plant.
