Euphorbia schizacantha

This succulent exemplar native to East Africa with growth can reach up to 120 cm in height. It is very appreciated for its particular appearance: similar to a cactus, it has a fleshy trunk remarkably branched; in fact its branches start from the base of the plant and can reach 40 cm in length. The epidermis attracts attention with its captivating colors and with the contrast between the dark green and the light one that alternate between them forming numerous streaks. Over time, the plant also assumes reddish hues. It has thorns arranged in pairs, short and robust brown. The strong point of the plant are the two additional 'main' spines which are longer and more robust than the others and, being formed by the fusion of two previous spines, have a forked tip. Its flowers gently cover the branches as they are small, with petals of color ranging from orange yellow to blood dark red that with the reddish coloring of the stem create a very attractive visual impact. Thanks to its characteristics, ( the coloring, the thorns and the flowers) this succulent is very appreciated and sought after by collectors all over the world.
