In the crested shape E. milli has a very particular fan crest, unique in its kind, making each specimen very sought after by collectors around the world. E. mili, also called "Crown of thorns", is a very ramified shrub plant that over time forms a low and dense bush. Its brown-greyish stem is entirely covered by straight, thin and grey thorns. At the apex of the branches sprout obovate green leaves that may fall during dry seasons. It generates small and beautiful ovate flowers of red color (rarely yellow), generally all year round, but gives its best in dry and sunny weather.
