Euphorbia gorgonis is a caudiciform succulent plant (caudex), as its root forms a bulb merging with the central stem. At the apex the plant is crowned by elongated cylindrical stems, with numerous protuberances, punctuated by the scars created by the fallen leaves. Its name 'gorgonis' derives from the apical stems, which are similar to the snake hair of the Medusa gorgon. The inflorescence occurs in the central part, blooming with small bright yellow flowers.
