Euphorbia echinus (scientific name Euphorbia officinarum subs. echinus) is a thorny succulent shrub. It branches abundantly at the base of the stem and can reach a maximum of about 100 branches. Its intense green stem has a columnar habit similar to a cactaceae, with well furrowed ribs, defined by gray margins that seem lignified, from which small stiff grayish thorns emerge. Flowering occurs along the stems, blooming with small reddish flowers.
