Very peculiar succulent, characterized by smooth stem punctuated by 4 ribs extremely thin and grooved, almost winged. The stem tends in nature to reach even 5-6 meters in height, developing as a real tree in which the numerous branches act as a crown (which is why the plant is also commonly known as the "tree of the candelabra"). Growing upwards, the stem of the plant assumes a pleasantly irregular pattern with widenings and narrowings that make the complex extremely dynamic. The edge of each ribbing, especially in young plants, is finely marked by a whitish longitudinal line dotted with pairs of short and robust whitish spines that fade towards brown and are arranged opposite to each other, for a final effect as rich in detail as majestic in its total grandeur!
