Euphorbia clandestina

Wonderful succulent that is generally solitary but can become aroused over time. Its name comes from the Latin 'clandestinus' which means clandestine, hidden, in reference to its flowers, small ciathyas that are hidden between the tubercles and the leaves. It is much appreciated by collectors for its particular appearance. It has a fleshy stem of opaque green color with numerous conical and protruding tubercles. From the tubercles come out its elongated leaves ending with a tip and are covered with a down. During the winter its stems tend to assume reddish or purple colors. Its small flowers, ciathyas, are yellowish.
