It is a succulent plant, found in the Analavelona forest in Madagascar, from which it takes its name. Its grayish stem is covered with numerous gray-white thorns and resembles the habit of the Euphorbia milii. Its vegetative period runs from March to the end of October: this is the period, when new leaves are born, which then fall down in winter. Like with all Euphorbias, you have to pay attention to its milky sap, since it can cause slight irritation in contact with skin.
