This majestic succulent owes its Latin name to the peculiar white pollen it produces. It is one of the very loved "medusa's head-shaped" species, so called due to the central globose stem, flat at the apex, from which depart thin and up to about 7-8 cm long branches that crown the caudex arranging as rays. The whole plant has a brilliant surface of a beautiful emerald green, entirely dotted with hexagonal rather prominent tubercles and peculiar whitish signs at the points where the microscopic leaflets fall. The young twigs sometimes have soft green teeth that adorn the tubercles. The final overall effect is extremely symmetrical and so rich in detail that it cannot go unnoticed!
