Also called "Desert Candle" or "Candelabra Spurge", because it reaches up to 10 meters in height and takes the shape of a candlestick with its many branches. Its green stems along the edges of the ribs are covered with thorns, grouped in pairs: short and stubby, of a light color with a dark tip, ranging in color from brown to black. The lanceolate, narrow and long leaves grow at the ends of the stems, on the part of the new growing ones, which fall off after a few months. Cyathium (typical inflorescence of the Euphorbia genus) is of a yellow color.
