This plant is known by many different names, including 'spiralis', 'varispiralis', 'spiraliforme', thanks to its particular spiral shape. Being a rare and unusual cactus it is highly appreciated by collectors all over the world. Our succulent plant, being a hybrid of parents originating from the arid rocky areas of Chile, accustomed to long periods of drought, is quite resistant in nature. It loves to be placed in sunny but also ventilated areas. It resists high temperatures up to 50 degrees but not cold. In fact, during the winter the plant needs to be placed in sheltered places. Its stem, which grows in a curly, swirling spiral, is bright green and can grow up to 2 meters. It has sparse rigid spines of a yellowish-white colour, which follow the clockwise or anti-clockwise trend of its characteristic shape. A must that absolutely cannot be missing from your succulent plant collection!
