It is a cylindrical-shaped solitary cactus, which can reach up to 20 cm in height. Its olive green stem is made up of numerous ribs (12-14), on which downy areoles are formed, initially white and then taking on a yellowish color. The spines are robust and rigid, slightly curved, with a black color when young that tends to become gray with age. During the flowering period you can admire its splendid tubular-shaped flowers of straw or amber yellow color.
