Description:
Epithelantha bokei is a small globular cactus. Its slow growth makes it rare and desired, in its countries of origin it is often victim of illegal hunting. One of its most interesting features are thorns: these are very small and thick, there are almost up to a hundred of them in each areola! Being positioned so tightly between them seems smooth to the touch; their colour is a whitish tending to cream or grey. In the periods when there is greater availability of the water this species keeps its beautiful roundish shape, whilst, in the periods of drought tends to shrink to preserve it’s humidity.

Plant care:
It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 8 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer and suspend watering completely in winter.
The best one is a very well-draining soil specific for cacti.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
