Description:

These plants are similar to tropical woody vines, which in nature exceed one meter in height, but in pots they appear as very decorative caudex, with woody roots that intertwine with each other, giving rise to unique shapes, in which it will be impossible to find a specimen equal to another one! It has clustered flowers, from which it generates seeds, having an emetic effect, which are edible, according to some ethnic populations, after prolonged maceration. A curios fact: many studies still in progress show that some species have seeds with strong anti-inflammatory properties!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 7 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water regularly but moderately during the growing season (when the new leaves are born), always making sure that the soil is always dry between one watering and the next one. During the dormant period (when the leaves begin to turn yellow and fall) suspend watering.

The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
