Description:
It is a perennial Stapelioid succulent, commonly known as "Dragon horns" for its particular angular shape, or "Persian carpet" for the peculiar pattern of its flower. It easily branches into dense green cushions. It has stems up to 30 cm long, ranging in color from light green to reddish spotted with brown, covered with numerous tubercles with thorn-like teeth. In summer, its beautiful large flower of about 10-13 cm in diameter blooms (hence its name 'grandis'), which is of a creamy yellow color, densely covered with red-burgundy streaks and with bright yellow tips; the upper part of the flower is covered with long purple hairs.

Plant care:
It requires an exposure to full sun. However, it can be placed in a partially shaded area only if it still receives a lot of light throughout the year.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 12 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water regularly in summer but only when the soil is dry. During the cold periods, reduce considerably the water intake (about once every 1-2 months).
It is an optimal solution to use a specific substrate for succulents, to which you can add fine sand for better drainage.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
