Art. 51506
The monstrous shape of this cactus presents geometric anomalies, for example asymmetrical protuberances or absence of spines, different for each individual exemplar, so much so as to make each of them absolutely unique and for this extremely sought after by collectors. It is a globose cactus with a solitary posture that, over time, tends to light up. Its stem, of opaque pale green colour, has several well grooved ribs. It differs from E. for its much more woolly areoles. The spines are very short, with a brownish cream colour, or even often are completely absent. The flowering period is in spring-summer when, on long stems coming out directly from the areolas, its enormous nocturnal flowers bloom on the shades of the rose.
