Beautiful Japanese cultivar, much appreciated by collectors all over the world for its peculiar ribs. Its green stem contrasts with the downy areoles that form an almost perfect line, on which stiff brownish-gray thorns sprout. During the spring you can admire its splendid blooms, often larger than the plant itself.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer and suspend watering completely in winter.
The best option is a substrate suitable for cactaceae, as long as it is well draining.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
