Echinopsis crassicaulis

Beautiful cactaceae with a rather slow growth, whose globose stem does not reach a large size but rather tends to access at the base. The body, of a beautiful intense emerald green, is equipped with deep longitudinal ribs along which there are rows of large roundish and whitish areoles. It has radial white-greyish thorns arranged radially, rather robust but not very long, and usually a single central thorn reaching even 3 cm of length and turning outwards, giving rise to a complex strongly thorny. The extremely wild aspect of E. crassicaulis will be "softened" when, at the top of the cactus, gigantic funnel-shaped flowers of a decided red bloom: their combination of vivacity and elegance will certainly not go unnoticed!
