Description:

E. ancistrophora is an exemplar of a globe-shaped cactus slightly depressed at the apex and with the growth tufts at the base. Its dark green stem has some ribs marked with well visible tubercles and distant from each other; above them we can see the white and woolly areoles from which radial and central thorns come out. The first ones are thin and slightly curved whitish whilst the central ones, if present, are pale brown, more curved and longer than the radial spines. The magnificent flowers of E. ancistrophora are daisy-shaped, bloom at the apex of the plant and have shades ranging from white, pink, to intense red.

Plant care:

It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer and suspend watering completely in winter.

The best option is a substrate suitable for cactaceae, as long as it is well draining.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
