Echinofossulocactus robustus

Peculiar globose cactus, slightly depressed at the apex and equipped with well crossed ribs, very tight and wavy, as typical feature of most of the species of the genus. Otherwise, the thorns identify and make E. robustus to be easily recognizable: from large woolly and white areoles they emerge in fact, in addition to the thin radial thorns; also its peculiar cream central thorns that are extremely long, flat and wide. Of these last ones, some tend to turn downwards, whilst the more you climb along the stem, the more they all head upwards, getting dense and darker close to the white woolly apex, for a truly unique and wild scenographic effect!
