Description:
This small cactus does not reach large dimensions but is so rich in details that it looks like a real miniature beauty! It has a globular green stem, furrowed by thick wavy ribs and curled ridges, between which short radial spines with a glassy appearance and long yellow and flattened central spines emerge, which further elongate at the apex. In conditions of intense light the stem tends to take on bronze shades, moreover it flowers much more abundantly, giving a touch of liveliness with its purple and pink streaked flowers.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer and suspend watering completely in winter.
The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
