Beautiful and very particular cactaceae, formed by globose stem slightly depressed at the apex, of a nice and opaque dark green. It does not usually reach large dimensions and has a rather slow growth, which is why it is often grafted on other cactus to speed up and help their development. The most extravagant characteristic of this plant are its ribs, extremely close and wavy, asymmetrical and pleasantly soft. Sometimes the ribs are so "animated" to become three-dimensional, with multiple protrusions that emerge like ripples. The species "inermis", as the same name refers, does not have thorns even if being a cactus, further peculiarity for which it is so appreciated and sought after.
