Description:

The crested shape of this cactacea presents the typical fan arrangement, which makes every specimen unique, never identical to another one and, for that reason, beloved by collectors. In its regular shape it is a magnificent specimen of solitary cactus, with a dark green globose stem with a yellowish-white down at the apex. It has numerous well-marked and wavy ribs, on which we find the white and wooly areolas. From the latter emerge the radial and central spines curved upwards: the former are thin, yellowish-white and short, while the central ones are very robust, long and yellow with dark tips. E. guerraianus is also known by the name of Stenocactus guerraianus and is suitable for all types of locations that enjoy a lot of brightness.

Plant care:

It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer and suspend watering completely in winter.

The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
