Echinocereus subinermis f. variegata is a very peculiar species, each plant will be different from the other thanks to the variegation that occurs in the points where chlorophyll is absent. It is a solitary cactus that, with the passage of time, tends to clump up. It has a green stem with well-defined ribs and small spines initially yellow, later tinged with black, which grow at the edge of each rib. In spring / summer, large, funnel-shaped, cream-yellow flowers bloom, strictly at night.
