Echinocereus rigidissimus f. monstruosa

The monstrous shape of this cactaceae presents geometric anomalies, as an example sometimes asymmetrical protuberances or the absence of thorns, different for each individual specimen, so as to make each of them absolutely unique and therefore extremely sought after by collectors. It is a very much appreciated cactaceae for its extreme elegance; it has a globular stem, which tends to become cylindrical with growth and to develop individually, without branches. Only radial thorns emerge from slightly marked and wavy ribs, arranged radially almost to wrap the stem: the latter are very thin and short, slightly curved towards the stem and of a light color, sometimes enriched with light pink shades. Between spring and summer the charm of this cactaceae will be amplified by wonderful funnel-shaped flowers with showy bright pink tones along the petals and white in the throat!
