Really appreciated cactaceae for its extreme symmetry and elegance, has a globose stem, which tends to become cylindrical with the growth and to develop individually, without ramifications. From little marked and undulated ribs protrude only radial thorns, arranged radially almost to wrap the stem: these last ones are very thin and short, slightly curved towards the stem and of pale colour, enriched at times of slight pinkish shades. Between spring and summer the charm of this cactus will be amplified by wonderful funnel-shaped flowers with flashy pink hues along the petals and candid throat!
