Small cactus with an erect and compact shape, which tends to cluster at the base. Its green stem is fully covered with numerous, small and soft white thorns. During the flowering period E. nivosus generates large flowers of color ranging from bright pink to deep purple and create a pleasant chromatic contrast with the white thorns.
