Echinocereus knippelianus f. monstrous

The monstrous shape of this cactus presents anomalies such as asymmetries in shape or lack of thorns; characteristics and deformations that are never the same in plants and that make each of them unique and very sought after by collectors. In the normal form E. knippelianus is a solitary cactus that with growth can also tuft at the base. It has a globose stem of bluish green color equipped with tuberculate ribs. Its fluffy areoles are well spaced one from the other and the plant is almost devoid of spines, with only a few thin yellowish spines. During the flowering period, in spring, E. knippelianus f. monstrous gives beautiful funnel-shaped pink or white flowers.
