Cactus with a usually solitary posture, which, with growth, can also tuft. It has a globose or slightly cylindrical stem, of a nice greyish-green colour and equipped with numerous longitudinal ribs with marked tubercles, on which stand out white and woolly areoles. The characteristic spines of E. parryi are robust, long, curved, pink-greyish and, during the growth, tend to cover the entire surface of the plant. The period of flowering is summer, when wonderful bright yellow flowers bloom, giving E. parryi a touch of delicacy and vivacity at the same time.
