Echinocactus hybrid

E. hybrid doesn’t grow in nature, but it is generated in nursery starting from two different genus of cactus: Echinocactus grusonii and Ferocactus schwarzii. For that reason it is often called also "x Echinoferocactus". The hybrid obtained, with the globose body which at times reaches even remarkable dimensions, has intermediate characteristics between the two genera: the prominent longitudinal ribs, the pale green colours of the stem and bright yellow of the spines are typical of Echinocactus. Otherwise, the very long and robust spines, strongly pointed and turned in all directions are a characteristic belonging to the Ferocactus. The cactaceae you get has an absolutely brilliant and wild look, perfect for decorating locations of any style!
