Echeveria 'Painted frills'

For sure a showy succulent, not present in nature but obtained in a nursery, probably by the crossing of E. shaviana and E. nodulosa. The specimen shows the typical compact rosette disposition from the reduced dimensions, made of ovoidal leaves which enlarges toward the apex, to then end in a modest tip. The epidermis takes on the most various shades, which from dark green quickly turn to bright red or almost purple when the plant is abundantly exposed to sunlight. The name itself of the species, “painted frills”, refers to the foliar margins, often slightly ondulated, especially in the younger leaves, pleasantly surrounded by thin edges of a brighter red which seem almost drawn.
